About the Role

Monks is hiring a Talent Discovery Specialist with strong technology recruitment experience. This person is a hands‑on, expert‑level sourcer and recruiter responsible for identifying, engaging, and securing top technical talent, focusing on roles within Engineering, Data, Product Management, Artificial Intelligence, and Interactive Media. This role requires deep market mapping, meticulous pipeline management, and sophisticated candidate engagement strategies tailored to highly competitive technical domains.

Responsibilities:
  • Oversee full cycle recruitment for 15+ technical roles at once with a time to fill <60 days.
  • Execute sophisticated talent sourcing strategies and direct outreach campaigns specifically for highly technical and specialized roles across Software Engineering, Data, Product and AI.
  • Become the subject matter expert on the technical talent landscape, including in‑demand skills, organizational structures of competitors, and cutting‑edge research communities.
  • Manage and segment robust, high‑volume technical talent pipelines meticulously within the Greenhouse ATS and other professional sourcing platforms, ensuring data integrity and accurate reporting.
  • Serve as the primary technical screening specialist, conducting in‑depth initial screens to assess candidates' technical skills, career motivations, and alignment with complex role requirements.
  • Develop and deliver highly personalized and compelling communication strategies to passive candidates, effectively articulating the company’s specific technical challenges, projects, and value proposition.
  • Ensure a stellar and highly organized candidate experience throughout the sourcing lifecycle, demonstrating professionalism and technical fluency at every touchpoint.
  • Partner proactively with senior Hiring Managers and Engineering Leaders to conduct detailed intake meetings, clearly define complex role requirements, and develop executable, data‑driven recruitment plans.
  • Provide actionable, real‑time market intelligence on compensation benchmarks, talent availability, and emerging technical skills to advise on job structure and hiring decisions.
  • Collaborate closely with the wider Talent Discovery team to share best practices, sourcing leads, and contribute to continuous improvement of technical recruiting processes.
About You
The essentials:
  • At least 3 years of experience in talent acquisition, with a minimum of 1 year dedicated to sourcing and recruiting specialized technical roles.
  • A strong, demonstrated understanding of the technologies, programming languages, and skills relevant to the target roles (e.g., Python, React, Agile, PHP, C++, AWS/Azure/GCP, Unity/Unreal). The ability to confidently discuss technical concepts with developers is essential.
  • Proven expertise in utilizing advanced sourcing tools, Boolean logic, GitHub, specific technical forums, and industry networks to uncover and engage passive candidates that general searches miss.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with the ability to persuade and close highly sought‑after technical talent.
  • A self‑motivated, resourceful problem‑solver who uses metrics and data to drive sourcing decisions and measure success.
Not a must, but a plus:
  • Experience operating within a fast‑growing, high‑stakes technology and marketing environment.
  • Familiarity with Greenhouse, Codility, and CRM tools.
