Job Description

Overview: This position is based out of our office in Toronto and reports to the Manager - Automation. We are looking for talented and motivated thinkers who want to play a central role in the design, development, and deployment of leading edge advanced industrial control and data management systems.

Your role
  • Ensure technical excellence, safety, and compliance with corporate/client standards across all deliverables within cost, time, and quality parameters.
  • Develop and calibrate restoration and asset lifecycle plans that balance smart technologies, performance, ROI, and value engineering.
  • Lead requirement gathering, stakeholder engagement, and solution alignment to support capital planning and benefits realization.
  • Manage condition assessments and inspections of airport control systems; identify and plan necessary remedial actions.
  • Create restoration plans, risk profiles, schedules, and financial models that support informed investment decisions.
  • Drive ideation and solution design aligned with PMO processes from concept through execution.
  • Contribute technical input on projects involving Operational Technology (OT) systems, including scoping, design reviews, cost estimation, and business case development.
  • Prepare and review SOWs, RFQs/RFPs, system drawings, PLC and SCADA designs, ensuring compliance with GTAA standards.
  • Support commissioning, testing, documentation, and post-construction reviews to ensure functional integrity and benefit realization.
  • Evaluate tender submissions, resolve technical non-conformance issues, and support warranty.
About you
  • Degree in Electrical Mechanical, Mechatronics, Aerospace, Chemical, Computer Engineering or Computer Science.
  • Minimum eight (8) years of experience in a similar industrial position with control and general electrical systems, including specification, implementation, construction, commissioning, maintenance, and report.
  • Design, programming, commissioning, and maintenance of Rockwell/Allen Bradley SLC-500, Control Logix, ControlNet and HMI systems.
  • Policy, standards, and protocol development and implementation in the related field in large organizations.
  • Must be able to obtain and retain a Transportation Security Clearance and possess valid Ontario driver's license.
  • Knowledge ACAD, electronic documentation management systems, contract terms and conditions.
  • Working knowledge of Professional Control Systems (PLC) and Electrical Engineering principles, theories, and practices, networks, SCADA systems, power systems (control system architecture, control philosophies, logic diagrams, programming, system safety design, electrical).
  • Licensed Professional Engineer with Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO) preferred.
  • Project Management experience and professional delegations in PMP is a preferred asset.
  • Cybersecurity experience is preferred but not required.
