Position Purpose
This role is responsible for managing key sustainability projects and initiatives that operationalize The Travel Corporation’s (TTC) sustainability strategy across global brands. Acting as a project manager, the role leads the planning, coordination, and delivery of critical sustainability initiatives, ensuring that project milestones are achieved on time and to standard. The Project Manager drives cross-functional collaboration, monitors progress against key sustainability KPIs, and ensures operational teams have the tools, data, and knowledge required to deliver on TTC’s commitments. Initiatives also include the TreadRight Foundation, as the role will have oversight into reporting, governance and prospective grantee research.
Key Responsibilities
Project Management & Tracking
- Develop and manage project plans for assigned sustainability initiatives, ensuring clear timelines, deliverables, and accountability.
- Maintain and oversee the Make Travel Matter Experiences tracking system (i.e. AirTable), ensuring data integrity and timely updates for Operations teams.
- Maintain ESG reporting tool and co-ordinate quarterly data entry to support internal reporting and decision-making.
- Support TreadRight Foundation grantee partnerships and performance reporting, ensuring transparency, accountability, and measurable impact.
- Support with TreadRight Foundation administration from award applications, social media storytelling to bi-annual board meetings.
- Support the development of impact assessment tools to track the progress of social impact investments.
Training & Internal Engagement
Manage the end-to-end coordination of internal sustainability training programs, including, in partnership with a TTC business partner in Learning & Development :Net zero roadmap implementation
Make Travel Matter Experiences for Tour Directors, field staff and marketingSustainability-related policies and guidelines (e.g., animal welfare, child safeguarding, DEI)Other topics, where appropriateWork closely with Training teams to schedule sessions, track completion, and measure training effectiveness.Maintain and update training resources and documentation to ensure consistency and accessibility across regions.Co-ordinate and report on progress of Make Travel Matter Teams membership, tracking, meetings, and follow-ups; identify and escalate risks or delays.Cross-Functional Coordination & Communication
Act as the primary point of contact for project-related updates, aligning Operations, Training, and Brand Experience teams.Provide regular project updates, dashboards, and reports to the Chief Sustainability Officer and relevant stakeholders.Support the preparation of materials for internal sustainability communications and team meetings.Accurate and up to date sustainability tracking systems (e.g. Make Travel Matter Experiences)Timely and actionable sustainability project updatesEffective delivery of internal training and engagement programsEnhanced cross–functional alignmentImproved internal awareness and engagementStrong project management mindset : structured, proactive, and results-orientedComfortable managing ESG tools and dataOwnership, Urgency & Excellence in driving sustainability initiatives to completionExceptional organizational and time management skills; high attention to detail and accuracyEffective communicator and collaborator; able to work cross-functionally with multiple teamsComfortable managing and interpreting data to inform decision-makingComfortable preparing marketing materials, from social media posts to presentation decksRequired Skills & Qualification
3–5 years of experience in project management, sustainability coordination, or ESG-related rolesBachelor’s degree in Sustainability, Environmental Studies, Project Management, or a related fieldFamiliarity with sustainable tourism, corporate responsibility, and / or ESG reportingProficiency in Microsoft Office 365 and project management tools (e.g., AirTable, Monday.com, Smartsheet, Asana, or similar)Strong written and verbal communication skills; experience presenting project updates to senior stakeholders is an assetThe Travel Corporation is committed to providing accessible employment practices that are in compliance with the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (‘AODA’).
