A healthcare facility in Canada is seeking a Surgical Scrub to maintain aseptic technique and support surgical procedures. The ideal candidate will have at least 6 months of experience or relevant training, alongside a current BLS certification. Responsibilities include preparing equipment for surgery and adhering to quality assurance standards. This role demands the ability to work in a fast-paced environment while supporting the surgical team.
This position maintains established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance program, safety, environmental and infection control standards. Maintains aseptic technique and actively monitors situations which could lead to breaches in aseptic technique. Identifies and cares for specimens according to departmental P&P and regulatory standards. Enhances professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, current literature, in-services, meetings, and workshops. Anticipates and provides equipment and instrumentation for the surgeon, according to established routines. Practices prudent and safe use of surgical supplies and equipment. Models the hospital’s internal and external service standards of listen, be nice, be helpful, and show regard. Performs other duties that are consistent with meeting departmental and organizational goals and objectives.
Minimum 6 month’s experience in the surgical scrub role setting or completion of a course for Surgical Technology. A current Healthcare Provider BLS card is required. Aseptic technique in the surgical setting. Able to work in the fast paced environment and manage/prioritize/complete work assignments and other duties as assigned.
