Qualifications

  • Minimum of two years of Signals & Communications experience.
  • Experience in crossing deactivations.
  • Ability to pass eRailSafe (background check).
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs.
  • Valid Class 5 Driver’s License with Abstract.
  • Willingness to travel across Canada.
  • Willingness to work in various weather conditions.
  • Ability to pass pre-employment drug and alcohol testing.
  • Hold a valid signal maintainer certificate.

Responsibilities

  • Installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing railroad signaling equipment.
  • Regulatory testing of S&C equipment.
  • Utilize testing equipment and software.
  • Lead a crew as acting foreman.
  • Timekeeping and maintaining documents.
  • Operate Hi-rail vehicles and various power tools.
  • Provide daily updates to the field manager.

Succession Planning for Railroads Jasper Alberta Qualified Signal Maintainer

SPRING Alberta – Permanent, Full-time

Pay: $30–$50 per hour. Benefits and pay scale based on experience. Role requires eligibility to work on CPKC property. Work cycles vary by client needs (typical patterns: 8 days on/6 days off or 7 days on/7 days off).

Primary Duties & Responsibilities
  • Installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing railroad signaling & communications equipment
  • Regulatory testing of S&C equipment (weekly, monthly, semi-annually, etc.)
  • Utilize testing equipment and software
  • Lead a crew as acting foreman (up to 6 other employees)
  • Timekeeping
  • Maintain documents, records, and reports as required
  • Operate Hi-rail vehicles
  • Operate various power tools
  • Provide daily updates to the field manager
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications & Skills
  • Minimum of two (2) years of Signals & Communications experience
  • Experience in crossing deactivations
  • Ability to pass eRailSafe (background check)
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs
  • Valid Class 5 Driver’s License with Abstract

  • Hold a valid signal maintainer certificate (CN ATP, CP, or equivalent)
What We Offer
  • Competitive wage range: $34.00–$50.00/hour, based on experience and credentials
