Job description
Overview

A Medical Leadership opportunity is now available in Seniors Mental Health for MHSU.

The Subspecialty Medical Director will be the psychiatrist responsible for quality and strategic planning for medical and clinical services in senior’s mental health within the Mental Health and Substance for IHA.

In this role, you will work collaboratively with the MHSU Leadership Team and the Regional MHSU Leadership Teams to address quality and safety issues and enhance a patient-focused approach to the provision of MHSU Services for seniors through promotion of a collaborative inter-professional environment.

You will actively contribute to and participate in all aspects of quality, patient safety, planning, operations and management related to MHSU for seniors. This role is inclusive of all services across the spectrum of care, including but not limited to services within acute, long term care, tertiary and community MHSU sites. This role reports to the IH MHSU Network Medical Director on all quality matters.

Success of the role is dependent upon the provision of leadership, successful planning and realization of clinical services, implementation of quality and risk management processes and collaboration with the MHSU Network Council, the Regional Medical Directors for Seniors Care Transformation/Long term Care and the Executive Director for Seniors Care Transformation to continue to review and design MHSU services for seniors across the continuum of care.
