Client: Bruce Power
Duration: January 2026 – December 2026 (up to 40 hours/week, hours may fluctuate based on project requirements)
Location: Remote (with occasional travel to Bruce Power site as required)
Rate: Market competitive, commensurate with level of crane engineering experience (Junior/Intermediate/Senior)
Security Clearance: Bruce Power security clearance required

Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Subject Matter Expert (SME) with technical experience in cranes to support engineering and project activities for Bruce Power throughout 2026. The ideal candidate will bring deep knowledge of crane systems, operations, and maintenance within industrial or nuclear environments.

This role is designed to provide specialized technical support and may require flexibility, as weekly hours and total duration are dependent on evolving project needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide expert technical guidance related to cranes (design, operation, maintenance, inspection, and upgrades).
  • Support engineering change activities, project planning, and execution related to crane systems.
  • Participate in design reviews, safety assessments, and technical evaluations.
  • Advise project teams, stakeholders, and leadership on crane-related technical matters.
  • Prepare and review technical documentation and reports.
  • Attend occasional on-site meetings or inspections at Bruce Power, as required.
Required Qualifications
  • Demonstrated hands-on technical experience working with cranes (specify level: Junior/Intermediate/Senior based on experience).
  • Strong understanding of crane systems, regulations, and industrial applications.
  • Ability to work independently and remotely while supporting multidisciplinary engineering teams.
  • Eligibility for Bruce Power security clearance.
Preferred / Asset Qualifications
  • Experience with Bruce Power Engineering Change Control (ECC).
  • Previous Owner’s Engineering Lead experience.
  • Project Execution Lead experience in industrial or nuclear projects.
Additional Notes
  • The requested support is up to 40 hours per week, but actual hours may vary and could be reduced based on project needs.
  • The engagement may not span the full 12 months depending on workload requirements.
  • Candidate must confirm travel flexibility for occasional on-site work at Bruce Power.
