A regional governmental agency is seeking candidates for various wildfire management positions in British Columbia. The role involves leading fire crews, ensuring community safety, and executing fire suppression plans. Candidates should have relevant forest fire experience, valid certifications, and be willing to work in challenging conditions. This is a full-time on-site position with multiple vacancies across various locations including Revelstoke.
The Team: At the Southeast Centre, you'll join a dynamic and established team of diverse individuals dedicated to wildfire management and safety. Our team comprises Unit crews (22 people) and Initial Attack crews (4, with bases hosting between 18 and 52 members). You will collaborate with professionals in wildfire prevention, preparedness, response, and recovery from across the province. The Fire Crew leader plays a critical role in executing fire suppression and hazard plans and mobilizing crews in incident response. The Role: In this role, you'll lead crews on the fireline and in day-to-day fieldwork around communities, playing a vital part in keeping these communities safe and resilient. Education and Experience
* Intermediate First Aid is the new name for Occupational First Aid (OFA) Level 2, as of November 2024. The name change aligns with CSA standards.
