This role involves conducting soil and concrete testing and managing on-site laboratories at remote construction sites across northern Canada. Qualifications

Senior Technician - Materials Testing

Outcome Consultants Inc. (OCI) is currently seeking a driven and results oriented individual to carry out materials testing quality control activities at remote construction sites in northern Canada.

Responsibilities
  • Conducting soil testing for grain size, standard proctor tests, compaction testing, and concrete testing, and carrying out quality assurance reviews of test results for reporting.
  • Troubleshooting real time compliance issues in the field and monitoring non-compliance protocols and liaising with client and contractor representatives and staff to ensure that all quality issues are documented and resolved.
  • Managing the on-site testing laboratories at remote construction sites.
  • Carry out site-wide inspection and testing operations.
  • Review and implement project Inspection & Testing Plans (ITP) and other plans and specifications to cover quality control requirements for various scope elements and all project phases.
Qualifications
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in the materials testing field.
  • A technical diploma from an accredited post-secondary school in Canada.
  • A Certified Engineering Technologist (CET) designation (preferred).
  • Detailed oriented.
  • A valid Class 5 Drivers License and a clean driving record.

Job Types: Fixed-term Contract

Salary: $30-35 per hour

Expected hours: 84 hrs per week on rotations (20 days on, 10 days off but varies based on project)

Work Location: Frequent travel to remote construction sites to conduct construction quality control activities
