A leading telecommunications company in Gatineau is seeking a skilled Senior Technical Writer to develop and manage technical documentation for the Telesat Lightspeed network. The role requires at least 7 years of technical writing experience, excellent communication skills, and familiarity with satellite communications. You'll collaborate with various teams to create structured documentation that supports operational excellence. This is an on-site position that may require occasional travel and overtime.

The Senior Technical Writer plays a pivotal role in supporting the operational readiness and excellence of the Telesat Lightspeed network. Ideally, the incumbent is a Technologist with extensive experience in technical writing who will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and optimizing technical documentation that supports the NSO’s core teams and functions: Incident Management, Device Configuration Management, Device Software Management, Change Management, Preventative Maintenance, and Performance Management. Working closely with Network Operations, Engineering, IT, and Customer Service Centre, among others, the Senior Technical Writer will lead the creation of structured, tier-based documentation frameworks, including SOPs, training materials, troubleshooting guides, and process maps. This role is ideal for a highly organized, technically proficient individual with a strong background in satellite and network operations and a passion for enabling mission-critical workflows through clear and effective documentation.
