Location : Toronto, ON (On-Site).

Description: You’re leading a multi-million-dollar project to develop a product that has the potential to revolutionize patient care. A recent team meeting suggested a breakthrough that could increase market potential tenfold. Evaluation will take about a month, and the client launch is scheduled for next week. The client is a respected neurosurgeon-turned-entrepreneur who is usually understanding but often finds change challenging.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Delivery of programs that "move the needle" for our customers while providing them with exceptional experiences underpinned by leadership and communication
  • Lead and inspire design teams to develop new products & technologies from concept through to manufacturing
  • Effectively manage the "triple constraint" of budget, schedule and scope on complex, dynamic product development programs
  • Lead elements for the Project Management Office (PMO) to conduct reports with other project managers, update processes and evaluate new tools
  • Strategically manage expectations with StarFish Medical's customers, including separation of "need" vs "want" and presenting trade-off evaluations to support decision-making
  • Grow the StarFish portfolio by identifying needs with our existing customers, matching these with compelling proposals and successfully securing sales
  • Apply a risk-centric approach to actively highlight and disposition threats and opportunities
  • Interface with Business Development to confidently represent the PM team with potential new customers
  • Oversee the work of project team members to ensure compliance with regulatory standards, company procedures, product requirements, and specifications
  • Support vendor quotations, POs and lead times to monitor BOM targets and ensure cost-effective manufacturing processes are chosen during design
  • Continue to support products through the manufacturing transfer and ongoing production. This includes creating and managing ECRs and ECOs, as well as liaising with clients to resolve product issues
What You Bring To The Team

  • Engineering degree, physical science degree or equivalent experience
  • Previous experience as a Project Manager in a consulting environment is desired, and experience in a regulated industry, whether medical or not, would be advantageous
  • PMP certification is not required, but we will consider experienced candidates with the qualifications
  • Experience with Software Development, CAD, FEA Analysis, Rapid Prototyping, PCB Layout, or Manufacturing processes is desired
  • At least 10 years' experience managing similar projects is required to succeed in this role
