Job description

AECOM Burnaby is hiring a Senior Ports & Marines Project Manager.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage multidisciplinary project teams in the planning design and delivery of ports terminals and marine infrastructure projects.
  • Oversee project scope schedule and budget ensuring alignment with client requirements and organizational objectives.
  • Provide technical leadership in marine structural and geotechnical engineering including container terminals LNG and oil terminals offshore wind facilities and bulk material handling.
  • Ensure quality assurance and compliance with relevant codes standards and safety regulations.
  • Coordinate with clients contractors regulatory bodies and internal stakeholders to manage project execution.
  • Develop and implement innovative engineering and design solutions to address technical and operational challenges.
  • Prepare technical documentation including designs calculations drawings specifications and reports.
  • Mentor and develop junior engineers promoting knowledge-sharing and technical excellence.
  • Support business development through technical input on proposals participation in industry forums and engagement with professional associations.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelors degree in Civil Structural Marine or Coastal Engineering (or related discipline).
  • 10 years of relevant experience in ports and marine infrastructure including design and project management.
  • Professional Engineer () license or eligible within 12 months or PMP or MBA
Preferred Qualifications
  • Masters or Ph.D. in Geotechnical Structural or Marine Engineering.
  • Proven track record of delivering complex marine infrastructure projects from concept through detailed design and construction.
  • Demonstrated expertise in marine structural design geotechnical engineering seismic analysis and soil-structure interaction.
  • Strong project management skills including budget control scheduling risk management and client interface.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to liaise effectively across disciplines and with external stakeholders.
  • Experience in mentoring and supervising engineering teams.
  • Board-Certified Port Engineer (BCPE) designation.
  • Experience with LNG facilities offshore wind foundations and seismic design of marine terminals.
  • Active participation in technical committees (e.g. ASCE / COPRI PIANC CSA).
  • Published technical papers or contributions to industry standards.
  • Business development experience including proposal writing and client presentations.
  • International project experience across diverse geographies.
