TheCIMA+ offices in Western Canada are in a growth phase, offering you the chance to shape complex projects. As a Senior Protection and Control Engineer, you’ll work with a team of designers on substations, hydro plants, and renewable energy projects.

You’ll collaborate with engineering disciplines, prepare plans and calculations, and mentor junior staff while contributing to commissioning and NERC CIP documentation.

Qualifications

• University Degree in Electrical engineering.
• Registered (or eligible to register) with EBGC or a recognized Canadian PE association.
• More than 12 years of relevant experience.
• Good knowledge of protection and control principles.
• Experience in design of electrical systems.
• 4+ years experience in detailed P&C design with major/local utilities in Canada.
• Fluent in English (oral and written).
• Basic knowledge of the Office suite (Outlook, Word, Excel).
• Autonomous, resourceful, and enjoys teamwork.
• Integrity, team spirit, and a commitment to excellence.

Responsabilités

• Design and review Control and Protection systems for utility and industry projects.
• Approve and review project deliverables including drawings and diagrams.
• Collaborate with engineering team and other disciplines.
• Prepare project plans, drawings and calculations.
• Develop electrical Control and Protection systems including diagrams and wiring drawings.
• Supervise development of power systems including load calculations and distribution diagrams.
• Participate in site surveys.
• Coordinate with other disciplines to develop optimized substation solutions.
• Perform protection coordination studies and relay settings.
• Oversee joining engineers and provide guidance.
• Prepare commissioning specs and NERC CIP documents.
• Coordinate with equipment, civil, mechanical disciplines.
• Possibility of sporadic site work for start-up or monitoring.
