Job summary

CIMA+ is seeking an Intermediate Protection and Control Engineer to join our Western Canada energy and resources team. You will work with P&C designers on large-scale electrical energy projects across Canada, contributing to substations, hydroelectric facilities and renewables.

Qualifications

• University Degree in Electrical engineering required.
• Registered or eligible to register as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng) in Canada.
• 8+ years of experience on P&C projects.
• Good knowledge of protection and control principles is mandatory.
• Experience in electrical system design.
• 5+ years in detailed P&C design with major or local utilities in Canada.
• Fluent in English (oral and written).

Responsibilities

• Design and review protection and control drawings for substation and power systems.
• Coordinate with engineering disciplines and project managers.
• Prepare plans, drawings and calculations per specifications.
• Develop electrical command and protection diagrams and related drawings.
• Perform QA/QC on electrical design packages.
• Support commissioning and field engineering.
• Attend review meetings and update work packages per client comments.
