Job summary

CIMA+ in Western Canada is seeking a Senior Protection and Control Engineer to lead design and protection studies for substations, hydroelectric facilities, and renewable energy projects across Canada.

You will work in a multidisciplinary environment, collaborate with engineers and project managers, and guide junior designers. The role requires a electrical engineering degree, 12+ years of experience in P&C, and fluent English with strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Electrical engineering degree required; registration with a Canadian professional body preferred.
• 12+ years of relevant experience in protection and control projects.
• Experience with substations, hydroelectric, and renewables in Canada.
• Fluent in English, strong communication and teamwork.
• Experience in detailed P&C design with utilities in Canada.

Responsibilities

• Design and review control and protection systems for utility and industrial projects.
• Prepare drawings, calculations, and project deliverables.
• Coordinate with multi-discipline teams and project managers.
• Support commissioning and field reviews; assist on-site as needed.
