About the Role

We are seeking a Senior ML Ops Developer to join our computer vision team in Montreal, QC. In this role, you will design, build, and maintain robust AWS-based services, APIs and web tools that underpin our computer vision initiatives. This role involves developing back-end applications for training and deploying computer vision models, creating tools for data processing and annotation, and implementing dashboards and workflows to monitor data pipelines.

You will work closely with ML scientists, tools engineers and data specialists to identify requirements and then collaborate with SREs to design secure, scalable architectures for new features and tools. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge computer vision projects by leveraging cloud technologies to build scalable and efficient solutions.

What You'll Accomplish
  • Develop and Maintain Scalable Applications: Build and upgrade applications that efficiently run computer vision models at scale, ensuring high performance reliability.
  • Create Development Tools and Dashboards: Build tools that facilitate content creation within computer vision applications, and dashboards to track and visualize data.
  • Architect End to End Cloud Solutions: Design and document resilient, scalable, and system architectures for our computer vision services, data processing pipelines, and deployment workflows.
  • Adopt and evangelize best practices: Identify, prototype and socialize industry leading platforms and tools for ML ops.
  • Ensure Security and Compliance: Implement security best practices to protect cloud environments and ensure compliance with industry standards.
  • Optimize Performance and Cost: Monitor and optimize the performance and cost-efficiency of AWS resources, ensuring scalable and cost-effective solutions.

Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field
  • 5+ years of experience in developing and maintaining cloud-based services, applications and APIs, especially AWS
  • Deep experience in developing Python applications and automation scripts.
  • Experience designing and configuring robust ML Ops pipelines with ML Flow (or similar)
  • Cloud Infrastructure: In-depth understanding of cloud infrastructure fundamentals and core AWS services, including but not limited to ECS, EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, and VPC configurations
  • Experience in setting up and managing Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CICD) pipelines to streamline development workflows
  • Experience deploying applications across development, staging, and production environments, ensuring smooth transitions and minimal downtime
  • Experience with Terraform for managing infrastructure as code, ensuring consistent and repeatable deployments
  • Proficiency in setting up monitoring and logging solutions using tools like DataDog, or alternatives to ensure system health and performance.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience implementing identity and access management, data encryption, and ensuring compliance with industry standards
  • Experience with advanced AWS services such as SageMaker for machine learning model deployment, Step Functions for orchestrating workflows, and Batch for running batch computing jobs.
  • Familiarity with containerization technologies like Docker and orchestration tools such as Kubernetes or ECS, particularly within AWS environments.
  • Strong scripting skills in Bash or PowerShell for automating routine tasks and improving operational efficiency.
  • Possession of AWS certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect or AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, demonstrating a recognized level of expertise.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities, effective communication skills, and a collaborative mindset to work seamlessly with cross-functional teams.
Compensation

This position will have an annual salary, plus equity and benefits. Please note the annual salary range is a guideline, and individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, competencies, and work location. The annual salary range for this position is $105,600-$158,400.
