About the role

Join the Technology and Business Transformation team, in the Senior Manager, IT Infrastructure position. The role is accountable for the reliability, security, and modernization of CMHC’s enterprise IT infrastructure. As the Senior Manager, IT Infrastructure you will provide leadership and oversight across cloud platforms, identity and access management (Azure Entra), Microsoft 365, backup and recovery, hyperconverged systems, virtualization, network infrastructure, and data centre operation.

You will ensure that infrastructure services meet enterprise standards for performance, resilience, and compliance, and lead the execution of complex infrastructure initiatives that support business continuity, operational excellence, and digital transformation. You will act as a technical authority and mentor, guiding teams through architectural decisions, lifecycle management, and adoption of emerging technologies while also contributing to corporate risk mitigation by ensuring infrastructure solutions align with regulatory requirements and CMHC’s enterprise risk management framework. Through proactive governance, strategic vendor oversight, and cross-functional collaboration, you will play a key role in enabling secure, scalable, and future‑ready IT operations.

What you’ll do
  • Define, build and articulate infrastructure modernization initiatives, including cloud adoption, data centre migration, and integration of hyperconverged systems.
  • Oversee the design and implementation of high‑availability, disaster recovery, and scalability strategies across hybrid environments, ensuring alignment with enterprise objectives and guiding teams toward best practices. Partner with cybersecurity, service delivery, and business systems teams to ensure infrastructure supports risk management and regulatory compliance.
  • Champion DevOps and agile methodologies within infrastructure teams to accelerate delivery, foster collaboration, and drive continuous improvement.
  • Oversee the secure deployment and configuration of identity and access management (Azure Entra), endpoint management (Intune, Autopilot), threat protection (Defender) and direct the administration and optimization of core platforms including Linux (RHEL, CentOS), Microsoft SQL Server, DB2, and Azure SQL.
  • Oversee the operation, optimization, and transformation of CMHC’s enterprise networking environment, including LAN/WAN, firewalls, VPNs, ZTNA, SD‑WAN, and legacy MPLS infrastructure.
  • Mentor infrastructure team members, fostering a culture of technical excellence, continuous learning, professional growth and serve as a senior escalation point for complex infrastructure challenges, guiding teams through architectural decisions and operational troubleshooting.
  • Ensure the delivery of secure, scalable, and resilient infrastructure services that support CMHC’s operational and transformation objectives.
  • Lead the technical implementation and continuous improvement of monitoring, automation, and management tools to maintain performance, availability, and security.
  • Apply ITSM principles and promote agile and DevOps practices to enhance service delivery, incident response, and operational efficiency.
  • Align people, work and systems to achieve program and policy efficiencies and results. Develop objectives and take responsibility for engagement, enabling a culture of learning, performance management and accountability within a divisional group.
What you should have
  • A bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, or a related field. An equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be considered.
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in IT infrastructure roles, with at least 5 years in a leadership and senior technical capacity.
  • A proven expert expertise in: Cloud platforms (Azure) including Azure SQL and cloud‑native infrastructure services, Identity and Access Management (Azure Entra), Privileged Identity Management (PIM) and Privileged Access Management (PAM) solutions for secure and controlled access to sensitive systems.
  • A proven solid expertise in: Microsoft 365 administration (Autopilot, Intune, and Defender), backup and disaster recovery solutions with a focus on high availability and business continuity, hyperconverged systems (e.g., Nutanix, HPE SimpliVity), virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper‑V), network infrastructure (LAN/WAN, firewalls, VPNs, ZTNA, SD‑WAN, and legacy MPLS environments), Linux systems administration (RHEL, CentOS), database platforms (MS SQL, DB2, and Azure SQL), patch management and endpoint protection strategies, data centre operations, including migration and consolidation.
  • A proven experience with transformational initiatives, including agile, DevOps, and cloud adoption at scale.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to assess complex technical environments and recommend improvements.
  • Demonstrated success in mentoring and developing technical teams, fostering a culture of learning and accountability.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts for non‑technical stakeholders.
  • Bilingualism (English and French).
It would be great if you also had
  • Relevant certifications in Azure, Microsoft 365, virtualization, or networking.
