  • Coordinates support with vendors for hardware and software lifecycle management, upgrades, and ongoing optimization.
  • Supports the Director in the development of Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity frameworks, including automation and failover testing.
  • Manages and administers VDI / virtual desktop environments.
  • Oversees storage architecture, provisioning, monitoring, backup strategy, and growth planning.
  • Provides technical leadership and direction to systems administrators, DevOps engineers, and infrastructure support staff.
  • Designs, implements, and maintains stable, resilient, and high-performing AWS infrastructure (e.g., EC2, S3, IAM, RDS, CloudWatch, Auto Scaling).
  • Acts as a hands-on escalation point for infrastructure build issues, outages, or project blockers across compute, storage, and networking.
  • Interfaces with IT Operations and Service Desk to ensure smooth deployment and transition of new infrastructure into operational support.

EDUCATION

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field is required
  • AWS, ITIL, PMP, MCSE certifications are a plus

EXPERIENCE

  • 8+ years of hands-on experience in IT infrastructure engineering, virtualization, and systems design
  • Extensive experience working with VMware, Nutanix, Windows Servers, and cloud platforms such as AWS and Azure
  • Practical knowledge of PowerShell scripting, SCCM, patching, and automation practices across infrastructure environments
  • Proven ability to execute infrastructure build initiatives including server deployments, storage provisioning, and environment configuration
  • Experience in enterprise-level software deployment and integration, including evaluating and recommending vendor technologies
  • Familiarity with hybrid infrastructure models and scalable architecture patterns, with exposure to cross-team collaboration on infrastructure modernization projects

SKILLS

  • Demonstrated ability to design, deploy, and maintain infrastructure that achieves high levels of performance, availability, and resilience.
  • Strong hands-on skills in server provisioning, scripting (e.g., PowerShell, Bash), and infrastructure automation (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation).
  • Expert knowledge of storage and backup technologies—architecture, configuration, tuning, and lifecycle management.
  • Strong understanding of infrastructure project lifecycles and SDLC integration (build to deploy).
  • Ability to interpret business and application requirements and translate them into robust technical infrastructure and platform designs.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment with strong troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills.
