About the Role

We are looking for a Senior Electrical Engineer with strong experience in large-scale commercial and industrial solar projects. This role will focus on designing and reviewing electrical systems that meet the Canadian Electrical Code (CEC) and guiding projects from concept through to completion. You will play a key part in ensuring our projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and to the highest technical standard.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the electrical design for commercial and industrial solar PV projects.
  • Ensure all designs meet the Canadian Electrical Code (CEC) and local/utility requirements.
  • Provide system optimization and value-engineering for cost-effective and code-compliant solutions.
  • Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and electricians to support successful project delivery.
  • Manage timelines and deliverables for engineering packages, drawings, and studies.
  • Prepare and review single-line diagrams, load calculations, protection/coordination studies, and bills of material.
  • Liaise with utilities, municipalities, and clients to secure approvals and resolve technical issues.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (Master’s degree is an asset).
  • P.Eng. designation with APEGA (or eligibility for registration).
  • 7+ years of electrical engineering experience, including at least 3+ years in solar PV or renewable energy.
  • Direct experience with large-scale commercial or industrial solar projects.
  • Strong knowledge of the Canadian Electrical Code (CEC) and utility interconnection requirements.
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD, ETAP, Helioscope, or similar tools.
  • Proven ability to balance priorities and meet deadlines without compromising quality.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
