An opportunity has arisen for a Drug and Alcohol Recovery Nurse (either RMN or RGN) to work within the Drug and Alcohol Recovery Service in Nairn and also the wider Drug and Alcohol Service in Highland.

Responsibilities

You will work within the Drug and Alcohol Recovery Service but have close links with colleagues within the Community Mental Health Teams and the wider multidisciplinary team. You should possess sound clinical knowledge, be able to demonstrate a wide range of clinical skills—involving interventions, harm reduction advice and delivering safe, effective care to a diverse client population. You will be required to carry out assessments, develop and implement treatment plans. You will be expected to offer supervision and support to junior staff within the team. This post requires you to work as part of the wider multidisciplinary team and as an autonomous practitioner.

Qualifications and experience

You should possess good interpersonal skills and a commitment to joint working. The preferred candidate will either be already qualified and registered with the NMC as a non medical prescriber or be willing to undertake this training on appointment. Significant post-registration experience is required as well as relevant experience in the Drug and Alcohol field. A full current driving licence and use of a car for work purposes is essential.
