Job description
Overview

SurveyMonkey is the world’s most popular platform for surveys and forms, built for business—loved by users. We combine powerful capabilities with intuitive design, effectively serving every use case, from customer experience to employee engagement, market research to payment and registration forms. With built‑in research expertise and AI‑powered technology, it’s like having a team of expert researchers at your fingertips.

About the role

As a Sr. Product Designer within our Core team, you’ll own end‑to‑end design for key features within the SurveyMonkey platform. You’ll translate complex user needs into intuitive experiences, partnering closely with Product Management, Engineering, Research and others to define and deliver solutions that drive adoption and engagement. We’re looking for a hands‑on experienced contributor who can shape design strategy, mentor more junior designers, and champion a user‑centric culture across the company.

At SurveyMonkey, our Product Designers blend deep user empathy with data‑driven decision‑making. You’ll combine your expertise in interaction and visual design with your ability to synthesize user research and analytics to set design direction. You’ll influence roadmaps, establish best practices, and ensure consistency through our design system while still rolling up your sleeves to craft pixels and prototypes.

You’ll report to the Senior Manager, Design and collaborate with cross‑functional partners to ensure the SurveyMonkey platform is intuitive, powerful, and delightful for millions of users worldwide.

What you’ll be working on
  • Lead the full product design lifecycle for major platform features, from discovery and user research through high‑fidelity mockups and interactive prototypes.
  • Conduct and synthesize qualitative and quantitative user research (interviews, usability tests, analytics) to inform design decisions.
  • Collaborate closely with Product Managers to define requirements, write clear design briefs, and align on success metrics.
  • Partner with Engineering to validate feasibility, iterate on solutions, and ensure pixel‑perfect implementation.
  • Advocate for best practices in UX, accessibility, and inclusive design across the organization.
  • Present design concepts and user flows to stakeholders, incorporating feedback and driving alignment.
  • Analyze post‑launch performance data to identify opportunities for iteration and optimization.
  • Help shape design processes, standards, and documentation to improve efficiency and quality.
We’d love to hear from people with
  • 8+ years of professional product design experience, preferably in a user‑focused SaaS.
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating user‑centered design process, problem framing, and polished visual and interaction design.
  • Expertise in Figma (or equivalent tools) for wireframing, prototyping, and design system maintenance.
  • Proficient in conducting and synthesizing both qualitative (user interviews, usability tests) and quantitative (analytics) research.
  • Deep understanding of interaction design principles, visual design, and information architecture.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence cross‑functional partners.
  • Experience mentoring and coaching designers; passion for growing design talent.
  • Familiarity with accessibility standards (WCAG) and inclusive design methodologies.
  • Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands‑on execution in a fast‑paced, agile environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Design, HCI, related field (or equivalent practical experience).
Remote work and participation

While this role is remote, it may require in‑person participation. You will be encouraged to attend company events throughout the year. These events will take place at a designated SurveyMonkey office or location.
