Senior Analyst, FP&A Transformation

Lightspeed is seeking a highly motivated, tech‑savvy, and intellectually curious Senior Analyst, FP&A Transformation to serve as a catalyst for modernization within our FP&A function. In this role you will be the primary process optimization expert, leveraging technology including automation and generative AI to streamline workflows and elevate team capabilities.

What you’ll be doing
Process Optimization
  • Own small transformation initiatives and provide support to larger team initiatives, ensuring on‑time delivery and maximum business outcomes.
  • Proactively identify and champion opportunities to optimize core Finance processes, focusing relentlessly on streamlining workflows and minimizing manual tasks.
  • Independently diagnose systemic issues within financial systems and processes, proposing and implementing robust, effective, and compliant solutions.
  • Conduct confident, targeted interviews with stakeholders to meticulously gather all necessary information for project initiation and ensure a comprehensive understanding of business needs.
  • Develop and proactively maintain comprehensive documentation, including detailed process flowcharts and instructional materials, to support all new and optimized processes.
  • Serve as the Finance organization’s technology expert, actively exploring and applying AI, Generative AI, and automation tools to identify and implement innovative solutions that enhance process efficiency.
Project Management
  • Manage project progress, consistently update work management tools, and ensure all deadlines are met.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain standardized project management frameworks, tools, and best practices within the FP&A organization to improve team efficiency, document control, and overall process consistency.
  • Establish and lead regular check‑ins to track progress against financial milestones, identify and elevate potential roadblocks, and report on the status of key cross‑functional deliverables to FP&A leadership.
  • Drive the coordination, timeline, and execution of the annual budget, forecasting cycles, and long‑range planning to ensure a unified and timely organizational submission.
Partnership & Support
  • Serve as a key technical and functional expert, collaborating across various Finance sub‑teams to seamlessly implement new systems and solutions.
  • Act as the key point of contact for the FP&A Department, providing advanced technical support and resolving complex financial system and process issues.
  • Facilitate and lead training sessions and meetings, providing clear, effective explanations and actively mentoring colleagues to elevate the team’s knowledge in new technologies and processes.
  • Maintain an acute awareness of the strict SOX compliance environment, ensuring all process optimization propositions are meticulously self‑reviewed and validated for impact before implementation.
What you need to bring
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field, coupled with a CPA title.
  • Minimum of 3+ years of relevant experience in an accounting, finance systems, or consulting role.
  • Demonstrated success in leading or significantly contributing to finance‑focused projects.
  • Proven proficiency in using technologies to automate and improve financial processes.
  • Strong analytical skills, critical thinking, and a highly disciplined approach to problem‑solving.
  • Fluency in English as a working language is required for this position.
