As the Senior Analyst, Emergency Department (ED) Medicine, you will play a pivotal role in transforming how data informs care across one of the most dynamic environments in the health system. The Senior Analyst for Emergency Department (ED) Medicine is responsible for developing and maintaining robust data infrastructure and delivering advanced analytics to support clinical, operational, and strategic decision‑making. This role ensures compliance with mandatory government reporting requirements, provides actionable insights for ED physicians, and drives improvements in patient experience and outcomes through data‑driven approaches, including simulation modeling. The Senior Analyst applies comprehensive knowledge of the health system and operational areas to novel and advanced analysis designed to translate data and information to actual decisions for our care providers and managers. The incumbent understands the perspective of our front‑line care teams and develops machine learning models and applications to improve these teams’ ability to deliver quality, efficient care. The Senior Analyst advances Data & Analytics’ agenda of moving from responding to identified needs (reactive approach) towards anticipating and integrating analytics into front line everyday use (proactive approach). The Senior Analyst develops and implements creative, advanced analytic approaches to address complex questions, sometimes where no precedent has been set. They are skilled in organizing and presenting complex information to stakeholders with analytic experience ranging from minimal to extensive and tailoring their communication to meet the needs of the decision maker, from front‑line managers to senior executives or external audiences (government, universities, etc.).
Master’s degree in health informatics, Data Science, Statistics, Economics or related field.
Minimum 8 years with healthcare analytics. Proven experience with data warehousing, ETL processes, and BI tools. Working with spreadsheets, databases and tools for querying, integrating, analyzing, interpreting, reporting and disseminating data. Statistical analysis of complex and large datasets, including segmentation, advanced multivariate and longitudinal modeling, and forecasting. Hands‑on experience with Snowflake cloud data platform for data warehousing and analytics. Proficient in designing, developing, and optimizing SQL queries within Snowflake. Developed and maintained data pipelines to ingest, transform, and load data into Snowflake using ETL tools and cloud services. Integrated Snowflake with third‑party tools (e.g., Tableau) for advanced analytics and reporting. Proficient in developing interactive dashboards and visualizations using Tableau for data‑driven decision‑making. Demonstrated capability applying ‘big data’ analytic techniques such as data mining, machine learning, statistical modeling, etc. Knowledge of simulation modeling tools (e.g., AnyLogic, Simul8). Proven strong analytical and problem‑solving skills. Comprehensive understanding of health systems.
