Job summary

YOUR NEXT CHALLENGE

Reporting to the Corporate Director, Mining, you will be part of the Technical Corporate Team (TCT), a collaborative multi-disciplinary team that works closely with regional teams, operations management, and technical services across the organization. You will ensure that the goals and objectives are achieved while promoting and respecting Agnico Eagle’s values, Health & Safety Code of Conduct and the environment. Specific responsibilities will include:

  • Act as a guardian of technical challenges, challenging sites and regional management to minimize enterprise exposure;
  • Ensure best practices dissemination, it’s implementation and conformity with company wide standards;
  • Support the budget / LOM / ELOM processes in providing technical and financial reviews associated with each operational site’s plan and strategy, creating value for Agnico Eagle;
  • Provides cross functional support to operations, as well as future projects development to ensure meeting and exceeding specific and overall performances;
  • Contribute to projects at various review and go / no go stages as third-party reviewer;
  • Contribute to opportunity seeking, inclusive of innovative development programs;
  • Facilitate shared learnings across portfolio through: Communities of Practice, technical workshops, working groups, mentoring; and enabling introductions/collaboration between personnel across different site teams;
  • Support the development of identified talent within the organization;
  • Guide and leverage Technical Services resources.
WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED
  • 10 to 15 years of experience in mining across a range of mining engineering functions, with a solid foundation in production scheduling and technical leadership roles. Experience in both surface and underground operations would be considered an asset;
  • Experience in project development is considered an asset;
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering or a closely related field;
  • Fluency (both written and spoken) in English is a requirement. French and Spanish is considered an asset;
  • Strong analytical, planning, and critical thinking skills;
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills, relationship focused, capable of building consensus through communication, collaboration and influence;
  • Attuned to identifying risk and opportunity, demonstrating the highest personal safety, environmental standards, and full commitment to the application of relevant legislation, codes, and company standards;
  • Agility with financial concepts and calculations that are required in various studies, project and capital evaluation;
  • Excellent working knowledge of all Microsoft Office Suite applications especially Outlook, Excel, Word & PowerPoint.
Your Work Schedule

Schedule: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday from our Corporate Office in Toronto, ON. Occasional visits to sites globally are also required.

No pay range is disclosed, as compensation is expected to exceed $200,000.
