Job summary

A leading financial services company in Oakville is seeking an experienced financial analyst to lead financial controls and ensure SOX compliance. You will manage financial reporting and collaborate with cross-functional leaders. The ideal candidate has over 5 years of relevant experience and advanced skills in Excel. Job Description

you will play a crucial role in leading financial controls, SOX compliance, and performance reporting for a growing division shaping the future of automation and life sciences. You will gain exposure to global operations, work directly with cross‑functional leaders, and drive initiatives that ensure integrity, transparency, and continuous improvement across the business.

Responsibilities
  • Improve finance processes in line with the Code of Business Conduct.
  • Handle monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Ensure financial reporting complies with IFRS standards.
  • Prepare quarterly audit working papers and reconcile accounts.
  • Manage intercompany reconciliations and corporate reporting.
  • Assist with cash forecasting and foreign cash flow hedging.
  • Collaborate with internal/external auditors to strengthen financial controls.
  • Implement compliance processes across the team.
  • Identify and report business/financial risks and opportunities early to support decision‑making.
  • Analyze profit streams and highlight key opportunities.
  • Investigate monthly cost variances and flag risks/opportunities.
  • Review project scope changes for justification, budget, and schedule impacts.
  • Work with Project Managers to forecast project completion needs.
  • Report project cost/schedule status, analyze variances, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Support bid approvals with account managers and leadership.
  • Mitigate financial risks such as credit, FX, transfer pricing, and taxes.
  • Incorporate financing and EDC costs into bids.
  • Contribute to financial planning and budgeting processes.
Essential Skills
  • 5+ years of accounting / financial analysis experience.
  • Proficiency in month‑end closing, intercompany transactions and reconciliation, balance sheet reconciliation, AP reconciliation, variance analysis, cost accounting, and inventory reconciliation.
  • Advanced Excel skills, including VLOOKUPs, Pivot tables, macros, and consolidation of large data sets.
  • Experience with larger ERP systems, JDE preferred.
  • College diploma or Bachelor’s degree in business or accounting.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience with financial analysis, reconciliation, journal entry, accruals, accounting, and financial statement preparation.
  • Familiarity with SOX review, IFRS, and inventory reconciliations.
  • Strong skills in Excel, general ledger management, and variance analysis.
Work Environment

The position requires working 40 hours a week from 8:30 AM to 5 PM, 5 days in‑office.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Oakville, ON.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $45.00/hr.

This is a fully onsite position in Oakville, ON.
