SUMMARY

The Security Coordinator will support all security-related aspects for an assigned contract and/or within a region. This position provides functional support in the areas of personnel security, physical security, information security, threat and risk assessment and business continuity planning. The security coordinator will provide operational support to BGIS through ongoing assessments of security threats and implement safeguards to ensure service delivery meets or exceeds contractual requirements.

KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Support BGIS’ security screening program for employees; subcontractors and subcontractor employees.
  • Responsible for security Vendor Assignment and Data Management related to internal Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
  • Acts as the point of contact for client corporate security staff following the occurrence of criminal activity or operational impact.
  • Receive, edits and distributes incident reports. Notifies internal and external concerned parties, as required.
  • Coordinates the implementation and upkeep of emergency response procedures and the documentation of account-level emergency management plans.
  • Responsibility for the maintenance and upkeep of BGIS’ Business Continuity Plans related to the assigned account.
  • Participates in client Infrastructure Continuity Planning and tests as required.
  • Develops and maintains strong, positive working relationship with client representatives, tenants, service providers and BGIS’ team members.
  • Assists in the implementation of cost saving initiatives and best practices.
  • Develops familiarity with client security technologies.
  • Provides guidance to internal facility and/or project management teams as required.
  • Liaises with client’s security vendors as required to gather and update contact information, requests for clarification, etc.
  • Develops account-related process documents or work instructions as required.
  • Other operational requirements as needed.
KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS
  • Minimum three (3) years’ experience in Security and/or Emergency Response.
  • Must be dependable, responsive, and customer-focused possessing the qualities of diplomacy, tact, excellent judgment, discretion and initiative and perform in a multi-tasked and dynamic environment.
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Good judgment and decision-making ability.
  • Professional attitude, driven and proactive.
  • Computer proficiency.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain Reliability Status and Security Clearance at the highest level of access required (e.g., Secret Level) to serve as Brookfield GIS’ ACSO in support of the DOS and FSC
  • Completion of any required Company Security Officer (CSO) certifications and training
  • Knowledge of supporting security disciplines, including document control, visit certifications, personnel security processing, and security processes and procedures.
  • Bilingualism an asset
Licenses and/or Professional Accreditation
  • Currently hold (or willing and able to obtain) Top Secret Level 3 security clearance
  • Affiliation with applicable security organizations and associations ie. ASIS
  • Currently hold (or willing to obtain) and maintain PSP (Physical Security Professional) certificate
