Job Function

Conduct studies and recommend solutions on security systems and services, providing consultative support and guidance to ensure a safe workplace. Lead security projects, perform investigations, and prepare recommendations for disaster recovery and emergency evacuation plans for Head Office sites.

Job Description

  1. Analyze security systems, including building security, electronic monitoring, software and hardware, employee security systems, and access cards. Develop solutions, estimate costs, and ensure compliance with legislative and corporate policies.
  2. Support Head Office employees on security systems, monitor effectiveness, and coordinate with law enforcement and emergency groups to meet client needs. Assist other departments with special security requirements.
  3. Manage projects by coordinating with consultants and contractors, overseeing work quality, and ensuring projects stay within schedule and budget. Conduct post-implementation reviews and maintain system operations.
  4. Investigate security-related incidents such as theft, fraud, vandalism, or accidents. Prepare detailed reports of investigations.
  5. Develop and test disaster recovery and emergency plans, ensuring they meet standards and corporate requirements.
  6. Provide training on security systems and services, identifying training needs, preparing materials, and conducting sessions.
  7. Respond to emergency alarms, coordinating security staff and other personnel for safety. Adapt procedures as necessary during emergencies.
  8. Supervise assigned staff, organizing work and providing guidance. Refer personnel issues to the supervisor.
  9. Contribute to departmental planning, procedures, policies, and programs.
  10. Act as a Special Constable and Peace Officer as required.
  11. Suggest improvements to enhance the unit's effectiveness.
  12. Perform other duties as assigned.
