Position Summary:

The Sales Manager oversees the sales function for the DFA East region across both Aggregates and Asphalt. Responsible for delivering top line results, the manager directs the sales team to realize margin improvement through focus on growing the business and improvements to revenue generation across multiple market segments.

  • Lead and develop the sales team, providing coaching and support for client presentations across Aggregates and Asphalt.
  • Develop SMART objectives to drive team performance across both product categories.
  • Collaborate with management to set annual revenue targets aligned with strategic plan initiatives and EBITDA goals.
  • Foster cross-functional collaboration with counterpart divisions to ensure a unified team approach.

Duties and Reponsibilities:
  • Manage current and upcoming projects in the pipeline, including paving, infrastructure, and construction opportunities.
  • Maintain and strengthen client relationships with contractors, municipalities, developers, and other key stakeholders.
  • Identify new revenue streams and margin improvement opportunities within Aggregates and Asphalt markets.
  • Oversee pricing strategies, contract management, and ensure alignment with annual budgets and profitability goals.
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly reports, including forecasts and reforecasts, comparing results against prior year and budget.
  • Ensure compliance with SOX and CRH Canada guidelines, including review of all contracts, PO’s, and NDA’s through legal.
  • Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and trade shows to strengthen market presence.
  • Establish annual budgets for marketing and sales expenses, enforcing strict budgetary controls.
  • Maintain market intelligence on competitors, trends, and future opportunities across Aggregates and Asphalt.
  • Collaborate with credit and billing teams to ensure smooth invoicing, collections, and protection of receivables.
  • Drive initiatives to reduce bad debt exposure and meet collections targets.
Qualifications:
  • 7–10 years of experience in sales or business development within the construction materials industry (Aggregates, Asphalt, RMX, or related sectors).
  • Proven ability to lead and develop sales teams and set strategic direction.
  • Track record in managing complex projects across paving, infrastructure, and construction sectors.
  • Strong expertise in pricing strategies, contract management, and aligning with annual budgets and profitability goals.
  • Experience in market intelligence gathering, identifying new revenue streams, and margin improvement opportunities.
  • Familiarity with SOX compliance, legal contract review, and risk mitigation for receivables and collections.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills, with experience representing the company at industry events.
