Your Role

The Ruminant Sales Specialist will work directly with dairy producers to generate sales on dairy farms by achieving their goals both personally from a tonnage perspective and on farm as outlined by the producers they work with. The primary responsibilities of this role will be to work to gain and retain new dairy customers and maintain current customer base in the region they are responsible for.

This position will directly report to the Ruminant Technical & Business Manager and work with dairy nutritionists, other technical representatives, and the mill to ensure that NLM processes are respected and followed ensuring best quality customer service both on farm and through manufacturing and delivery. Representation of New-Life Mills at industry events and by attending relevant symposiums / conferences that will provide benefit to New-Life Mills is expected.

Day to Day
  • Developing, supporting, and implementing dairy sales strategies to drive sales.
  • Provide regular market intelligence to the Ruminant Technical & Business Manager to maintain competitive advantage.
  • Organizing dairy farm visits to evaluate and determine farm needs and then coordinating with our dairy nutritionist to help build appropriate resources.
  • Partnering with dairy farm managers to identify issues and create solutions to support farm goals.
  • Promoting and educating customers/prospects on the benefits of using NLM products for dairy.
  • Ration balancing using AMTS software program, while working collaboratively with a central nutrition team.
  • Organizing dairy producer meetings and being actively involved at industry trade shows.
  • Continuing education, attending conferences and/or professional development opportunities.
Required Qualifications
  • Minimum 3 years of experience working in the dairy industry, considered an asset.
  • Possess a valid Canadian driver’s license in good standing authorizing you to drive independently during your employment.
  • Strong knowledge of Canadian Dairy and Feed Industry.
  • Knowledge in small ruminants is considered an asset.
  • Solid understanding of Canadian quota system including rules and regulations.
  • Personable with the ability to communicate well with people of diverse background and levels of authority.
