A leading property management company is seeking a full-time Resident Caretaker to manage and maintain a vibrant community in Vancouver. The ideal candidate will have 2-3 years of caretaking or maintenance experience, strong communication skills, and the ability to manage various responsibilities from administrative tasks to emergency handling. This is an on-site position that offers the opportunity to be fully immersed in property management operations in a culturally diverse neighbourhood.

Qualifications

  • 2-3 years of caretaking and/or building maintenance experience.
  • Able to work well with minimal supervision.
  • Valid Class 5 driver's license and own vehicle preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for all administrative work involved in the operation of the property.
  • Cleaning the common areas and assisting with minor repairs.
  • Handle emergencies on a 24hr basis during the workweek.

The Role
We are looking for a full-time Resident Caretaker to service a culturally diverse community within the Renfrew-Collingwood area.

Responsibilities
  • Responsible for all administrative work involved in the operation of the property according to procedures and set out by instruction from the Property Manager.
  • Work cooperatively alongside other onsite staff to ensure the Property maintains a high standard of professionalism.
  • Handle Move in/ Move out and bank deposits processes.
  • Arranging and organizing vendors and working with maintenance.
  • Cleaning the common areas and assisting with minor repairs in the common areas and inside the units.
  • Perform minor plumbing repairs.
  • Basic landscaping – lawn mowing, weeding, etc.
  • Issue Purchase Orders for all work and/or supplies being undertaken at the building and supervise contractors.
  • Prepare detailed Incident Reports related to accidents, altercations, and damage to the property and/or other applicable incidents.
  • Deal with emergencies on a 24hr basis during the workweek.
  • Schedule and supervise move in and outs of the building.
  • Maintain accurate files and records in accordance with the property including review of daily security reports andpreparing a bi-weekly building report.
  • Train and manage caretaker coverage personnel.
  • Other duties as required from time to time, available for call outs.
Qualifications
  • 2-3 years of caretaking and/or building maintenance experience
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Detail oriented with strong organizational skills
  • Computer proficient and the ability to learn and adapt to new software
  • Able to take direction and work well with minimal supervision
  • Valid Class 5 driver’s license and own vehicle preferred
  • Please note: to be considered for this position you must be available to work on-site in Vancouver. This is not a remote position.
