Job description
Company Description

We are S&R Group and for over 60 years we have been building communities "where friendships flourish and life is enriched". We are looking for people who, like us, believe the work we do has a positive impact on their community and that together we can continue supporting our Residents and their families.

Job Description

Long Term Care is a unique experience, when you come to work you are coming into a Resident’s home. Your feedback and input is used to improve our daily practices, and your energy goes a long way to putting smiles on our Residents’ faces.

We provide a fulsome orientation to set you up for success and help you thrive in your supervisor role. If you were working for us as an RN, here are some of the things you would have done last week:

  • Built genuine connections with residents—"making meaningful moments” part of every shift.
  • Led your nursing team and the building in the absence of management, delivering shift reports, supervising and mentoring staff, and driving priorities for the day.
  • Assessed, planned, and delivered care for residents with complex needs, ensuring comfort, dignity, and safety.
  • Administered medications safely and accurately, and practiced full-scope therapies such as subcutaneous hypodermoclysis, IV therapy, and advanced wound care.
  • Managed and documented pressure injuries using enhanced digital photography to track healing.
  • Partnered with physicians, NPs, and therapists to adjust care plans and improve resident well-being.
  • Completed timely, accurate documentation to CNO standards—ensuring accountability and high-quality outcomes.
  • Maintained a safe environment and acted on mandatory reporting requirements.
  • Used technology to keep care plans current and accessible for the team.
  • Supported families during challenging moments, creating meaningful moments of reassurance and trust.
  • Mentored new colleagues, students, and staff, strengthening the care culture.
  • Actively participated in quality improvement huddles, care conferences, and shift reports.
  • Took responsibility for staffing coordination and the smooth operation of the home when managers are unavailable.
  • Ended your shift knowing you made someone’s day better—not just through clinical care, but through moments that truly matter.

Ready to lead, care, and grow in a home where every day matters?

When you apply, if you have your registration in good standing with the CNO, we will try our best to reach out to you within the week (hopefully within a few days).

When you’re eligible with us for benefits, you can expect a variety of them:

  • Flexibility in shift scheduling to support your home life
  • When eligible, you can enjoy full range of extended Health benefits
  • Pension/RRSP matching
  • Tuition reimbursement
  • And many Company Events like our annual recognition parties, team theme parties, lunches, outings, gift cards, and paid days off

We prioritize promoting from within and support our employees' educational needs because we care for the team we have put together. We come to our workplace each day understanding that we are entering our Residents' Home, and we are there to support them. While we don't take ourselves seriously, we take our jobs seriously and love to have fun with each other and the Residents!

Qualifications
  • Registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario in good standing
  • Proof of medication administration education/competency
  • Vulnerable Sector Screening (VSS) check completed within the past 6 months
  • TB 2 Step updated within the last year
