REGISTERED NURSE – EMERGENCY (REGULAR PART TIME - JOB SHARE)
POSITION OVERVIEW

A regular part-time Registered Nurse position, as part of a full-time job share line, is available in the Emergency Department.

This position is responsible for comprehensive nursing care as established by the standards of nursing practice of the College of Nurses of Ontario and according to policies and procedures as set out by GMCH.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Registration in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO)
  • BScN is an asset
  • Must have current or recent clinical experience of at least two years in the Emergency, I.C.U. or step down units (Preference will be given to candidates with current Emergency nursing experience.)
  • Required triage experience, CTAS certification
  • Current ACLS and PALS
  • TNCC, ETLS and/or ENPC, NRP or willingness to obtain
  • Demonstrated ability to function effectively in emergency situations
  • Demonstrated clinical assessment and patient/family teaching skills
  • Demonstrated ability to function effectively in a multidisciplinary team
  • Demonstrated skill and knowledge of I.V. Therapy and venipuncture is required
  • Delegated Controlled Acts certification to be successfully completed within six months of employment date and to be recertified annually
  • Demonstrated effective communication skills
  • Evidence of on-going education in emergency nursing
  • Ability to assume a leadership/charge role
  • Demonstrated reliable attendance, punctuality and availability
  • Satisfactory performance and attendance required
  • Satisfactory Reference Checks required prior to start date
  • Must provide a Police Vulnerable Sector Check
  • Must complete a Pre-Employment Health Assessment including providing proof of full COVID vaccination prior to being hired
HOURS OF WORK
  • Commitment for hours as per the current ONA Collective Agreement
  • Must be available for shifts and weekends as per department schedule
  • Willingness and ability to provide coverage for job share partner as per the ONA Collective Agreement

SALARY: $40.24 - $57.68 per hour
