Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years college diploma in recreation, therapeutic recreation, or gerontology.
  • Experience working with clients with Alzheimer's Disease/Dementia.
  • Current registration or eligibility for registration with therapeutic recreation association.

Responsibilities

  • Plans and evaluates individual and group programs based on client needs.
  • Assists with integration and evaluation of volunteers.
  • Adapts recreation programs for successful inclusion.

Skills

Experience with clients with Alzheimer’s Disease/Dementia
Therapeutic recreation techniques
Adaptation of recreation interventions
Formal and informal assessment

Education

Minimum 2 year college diploma or post diploma certificate in recreation and/or leisure studies
Current registration with recognized therapeutic recreation association in Ontario
Eligibility for registration with recognized therapeutic recreation association
