A local government authority in Sechelt is looking for an Administrative Assistant to provide front-counter service and administrative support to the RCMP detachment. Candidates must have completed Grade 12 and an Administrative Assistant Certificate, along with two years of clerical experience. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and exceptional communication skills is essential. The position offers a casual working arrangement with a wage of $31.59- $36.50 per hour, plus benefits. The Administrative Assistant provides front-counter service and phone responses to the public as well as administrative and operational support in a confidential manner to the detachment in general. Operational support includes but is not limited to data upload in PRIME, TSMIT (Traffic Services Management Information Tool) and CPIC (Canadian Police Information Centre) maintenance. Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid RCMP reliability security clearance as a condition of employment.

This is casual, unionized position within the BCGEU. Wage for the position is set at Grid Level 6, $31.59- $36.50 (2026 rate) per hour plus 9.8% of the straight‑time pay in lieu of scheduled vacations, paid holidays, health and welfare benefits and other paid leave. Shifts will be scheduled on an as‑needed basis and there will be no guaranteed hours. District supports employment equity in accordance with the Human Rights Code of B.C.
