Overview:

The Quality Control Technician is a developmental role consisting of activities to maintain the quality management system and in performing, coordinating and reporting concrete and aggregate materials analysis. You will have exposure to different areas within the group such as Dufferin Aggregates, Dufferin Concrete, Ontario Ready Mix and the CRH cement plant. The position requires a strong performer who can work independently and effectively within the team.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform sampling and testing of aggregates to ensure compliance with plant and regulatory specifications.
  • Record, analyze, and interpret test data, maintaining accurate daily logs and supporting quality investigations.
  • Operate, calibrate, and maintain testing equipment, including preventive and general maintenance tasks.
  • Collaborate with field technicians, lab personnel, plant operators, and supervisors to communicate quality objectives and results.
  • Identify and report quality issues, contributing to continuous improvement initiatives across operations.
  • Support additional quality-related activities as assigned, ensuring alignment with business goals and standards.

Job Requirements:

  • Diploma or degree in Civil, Geological, Materials Engineering, or related field; or OACETT registration.
  • Knowledge of aggregate testing and OH&S regulations.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Able to work outdoors in varying conditions.
