Job description

Overlanders Manufacturing is seeking a detail‑oriented Quality Control Technician to join our team in Abbotsford on the afternoon shift. This role is ideal for someone with hands‑on inspection experience in a manufacturing environment who enjoys working closely with production to ensure high‑quality, precision sheet metal products.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform first article, in‑process, and final inspections on machined and sheet metal components.
  • Verify components meet customer drawings and internal specifications.
  • Notify the Foreman when components do not meet tolerance requirements.
  • Work with the Foreman to identify root causes, assess risk, and support corrective and preventive actions (NCRs).
  • Calibrate and verify measuring tools (if qualified).
  • Maintain quality control records for measuring equipment.
  • Recommend inspection or process improvements to enhance overall product quality.
  • Complete quality reports, data entry, and work order documentation.
  • Follow all Quality, Safety, and Lean procedures consistently.
Required Skills And Experience
  • 3 - 5 years of experience in quality control or inspection within a manufacturing environment (sheet metal or fabrication experience preferred).
  • Experience working in a fabrication and/or machining environment.
  • Ability to read and understand product specifications, customer requirements, and regulatory standards.
  • Ability to interpret mechanical drawings and understand dimensional and functional requirements.
  • Working knowledge of GD&T.
  • Familiarity with sheet metal materials, fabrication processes (cutting, bending, welding), and surface treatments.
  • Experience using measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, height gauges, scales, scanners, etc.
  • Understanding of inspection methods including visual and dimensional inspection.
  • Ability to accurately and neatly complete inspection documentation.
  • Ability to develop and document quality metrics (asset).
  • ASQ certification is an asset, but not required.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Basic to intermediate computer skills (Excel, Word, Outlook); training on company systems provided.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and work effectively in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Positive attitude and ability to work well under pressure.
Employment Details
  • Shift: Monday to Thursday, 4:15 PM - 2:15 AM (40 hours per week).
  • Schedule Perk: Every Friday off.
  • Pay: CA$24 - CA$28 per hour (Based on experience and skill level).
  • Location: 30320 Fraser Hwy, Abbotsford, BC V4X 1G1.
  • Occasional travel to nearby company locations may be required.
  • Valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle required.
