Position

This challenging position offers the opportunity to build new skills and gain experience with various VertiGIS Studio products on our Products team. Your abilities and interests will strongly influence the nature of this position at VertiGIS North America.

Responsibilities
  • Software product quality assurance, which may involve research and analysis, product testing, test case design, automated functional tests, defect reporting and verification, release testing, and managing test data
  • Designing and executing test plans for spatial applications and frameworks for the web and mobile devices that are developed by the Products Team
  • Working with a variety of development and quality assurance technologies and approaches including on‑premises and SaaS deployment, back‑end services, and front‑end UI
  • Provide guidance and knowledge to other stakeholders within the company
Job requirements

Diploma/degree in computer science, software engineering, or equivalent competency

Experience Levels
  • Junior: previous exposure to software Quality Assurance Engineer tasks (e.g. as a coop student or study project work)
  • Intermediate: 3+ years working experience in a software Quality Assurance Analyst/Engineer role
  • Senior: 6+ years working experience in a software Quality Assurance Analyst/Engineer role
Core Qualifications
  • Experience in software programming, ideally in automated functional testing
  • Proven ability to learn and master new technologies quickly
  • Experience with defect management software (Azure DevOps, JIRA, BugZilla, etc.)
  • Well‑versed in software version control concepts and the software development life cycle
  • Familiar with Agile software development concepts
  • Demonstrable interpersonal and communication skills for success in a team environment
  • Capacity to work, troubleshoot, and solve problems independently
  • High level of accuracy, organization, and attention to detail
Would love to see:
  • Experience with GIS and/or spatial systems (Esri, raster/vector data, OGC, etc.)
  • Experience with UX driven development
  • Experience with WCAG and accessibility concepts
  • Experience with Cloud Computing frameworks (Azure, AWS, etc.)
  • Experience with application deployment frameworks (Containerization, Kubernetes, Docker, etc.)
