The Team

The Role

We seek an enthusiastic individual to innovate and collaborate on delivering customer value in a fast-paced environment. You will build relationships, learn impacts within the competitive trillion-dollar Payments industry, and develop strategic infrastructure leveraging Scotiabank’s technology base.

Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with product owners, analysts, and developers to understand user stories and acceptance criteria.
  • Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts and frameworks (API, performance testing).
  • Execute test suites, analyze results, and log defects.
  • Integrate tests into CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Jira).
  • Understand features and technical implementations with development teams.
  • Create test strategies and contribute to planning.
  • Identify automation opportunities in manual testing processes.
  • Debug, investigate, and triage issues during testing.
  • Maintain documentation for automation tools and test cases.
  • Participate in performance and load testing as needed.
  • Contribute to code reviews and QA insights during planning.
  • Stay updated on testing tools, techniques, and trends.
  • Advise on test automation strategies.
  • Seek innovative technologies to meet organizational objectives.
  • Ability to work in-office 3 days a week.
Required Skills
  • Intermediate experience in QA automation or software testing.
  • Proficiency in programming/scripting languages (Java, JavaScript, Python).
  • Experience with test automation frameworks (Cucumber, Cypress, etc.).
  • Understanding of software testing principles (functional, regression, performance).
  • Familiarity with CI/CD, version control, bug tracking systems (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Jira).
  • API testing experience (Postman, REST, GraphQL).
  • Strong QA methodologies and best practices knowledge.
  • Ability to analyze requirements and develop automated tests.
  • Excellent debugging and troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.
  • Proficiency with Jira, Confluence, MS Office.
  • Payments domain knowledge is an asset.
  • Experience with Agile methodologies.
  • Performance testing background is an asset.
