We are looking for a reliable and detail-focused Protective Coatings Specialist to join our Production Team. In this role, you’ll help ensure our products meet HERD’s high standards by applying powder coating and protective finishes with precision and care.

Position: Protective Coatings Specialist
Location: 2168 Springfield Road (no bus routes)
Role Type: Full-time, Day Shift: Monday – Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
Starting Wage: $19.00/hour (higher depending on experience)

What You’ll Do

  • Apply powder coating and polyurea finishes to HERD products, ensuring durability, consistent coverage, and high-quality appearance.
  • Follow curing procedures, part hanging strategies, and load optimization techniques to maintain efficiency.
  • Inspect parts before and after coating, keeping rework to a minimum.
  • Operate, clean, and maintain coating equipment, performing routine troubleshooting and upkeep.
  • Complete production and quality records accurately and support continuous improvement efforts.
  • Maintain a safe, clean workspace by wearing full PPE (including fresh air helmet) and following all safety and environmental protocols.

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience with powder coating or protective coatings (preferred).
  • Comfortable working in dusty, dirty environments with full PPE (including fresh air helmet).
  • Physically able to lift and move steel parts repeatedly throughout the shift.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality standards.
  • Mechanical aptitude and willingness to perform equipment cleaning/maintenance.
  • Team-oriented, dependable, and safety-conscious.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Starting wage: $19/hour (higher depending on experience).
