Job summary

CIMA+ is seeking a Protection and Control Engineer in Canada to join our Energy & Resources team. You will work with P&C designers on large-scale electrical energy projects for Canadian clients, contributing to design, reviews, and field support.

The role requires a university degree in electrical engineering, P.Eng eligibility in Canada, 6+ years in P&C projects, and fluency in English. Strong collaboration, QA/QC, and office software skills are expected.

Qualifications

• University degree in Electrical engineering is required.
• Registered or eligible for P.Eng with a Canadian association (e.g., EBGC).
• 6+ years of experience on protection & control projects.
• Experience in electrical system design and substation projects.
• 3+ years of detailed P&C design with utilities in Canada.
• Fluent English (oral and written).
• Autonomous, resourceful, and team-oriented.

Responsibilities

• Design and review protection and control drawings for substations and power systems.
• Collaborate with engineering teams and project managers across disciplines.
• Prepare plans, drawings, and calculations from specifications.
• Develop electrical command and protection panels and related diagrams.
• Lead QA/QC activities for electrical design packages.
• Support commissioning and field engineering as needed.
• Participate in site surveys and client meetings.
