Job description

Our work involves transforming historic industrial and institutional buildings into vibrant new uses through adaptive reuse projects supported by historic tax credit programs. We also design new ground‑up buildings that complement their context and are thoughtfully detailed from concept through construction.

Design Historic Places. Shape New Ones. Grow Your Career.

We are a design-focused architectural practice that works where history and innovation meet. Much of our work involves transforming historic industrial and institutional buildings into vibrant new uses, often through adaptive reuse projects supported by state and federal historic tax credit programs. We also design new ground‑up buildings that complement their context and are thoughtfully detailed from concept through construction.

We are looking for Project Managers with at least 8 years of experience who want to be deeply involved in the full life of a project. This is a hands‑on role for individuals who enjoy both design thinking and the technical rigor required to get buildings built well.

What You’ll Do

You will work closely with principals and project teams from early ideas through construction, with real responsibility and room to grow. Your work will include:

  • Contributing to conceptual and schematic design, including massing, layouts, and design studies
  • Developing projects through Design Development, coordinating structural, MEP, and envelope systems
  • Producing clear, accurate, and well‑coordinated Construction Documents in Revit
  • Assisting with Construction Administration, including RFIs, submittals, site visits, and contractor coordination
  • Helping solve real‑world construction challenges, especially in existing and historic buildings
  • Collaborating in a small, supportive studio where design quality and good detailing matter
What We’re Looking For
  • 8+ years of professional architectural experience
  • Strong working knowledge of Revit; experience with other design and graphic tools is helpful
  • Solid understanding of building systems, construction methods, and detailing
  • Experience with adaptive reuse and/or renovation projects is highly valued; ground‑up experience is also important
  • A professional degree in architecture
  • Clear communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with consultants, contractors, and teammates
  • Someone who is organized, curious, and interested in taking increasing responsibility over time
Our Culture and Work Environment

We are a small, design‑driven office with a collaborative, low‑ego culture. We value thoughtful discussion, practical problem‑solving, and learning from each other. Because of our size, everyone has a voice and real exposure to all phases of work. You won’t be siloed—you’ll see how decisions made early in design affect construction and the finished building.

Our projects require creativity, patience, and technical care, especially when working within historic structures. We see this as an opportunity to do meaningful, lasting work that respects the past while serving present‑day needs.

Opportunities for Growth

This role offers clear opportunities to expand your responsibilities, whether that means leading portions of projects, mentoring junior staff, deepening technical expertise, or growing into a senior architect role. We support professional development, licensure, and long‑term career growth within the firm.

Why Join Us?
  • Challenging, engaging projects with real architectural substance
  • A supportive studio culture that values design, craftsmanship, and collaboration
  • Competitive compensation, commensurate with experience
  • Opportunities to grow professionally and take on increasing responsibility
