Clark Builders is hiring a Project Manager. Working out of the Edmonton office, the Project Manager will manage projects across all our regions of work. This role is highly accountable and responsible for all aspects associated with the successful execution and delivery of our projects safely, within budget, on time, and to the highest quality standards. You must have the highest respect for people, lead the implementation of measurable lean practices, and demonstrate a proven track record of achieving the successful delivery of the projects according to conditions of satisfaction.

Reporting to: Director, Operations or Project Executive

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Lead, build, and develop operations talent and cultural management, supporting Clark Builders as the best place to learn, work, and thrive.
  2. Ensure all operational standards and processes are achieved, ensuring operational efficiency, consistency, & excellence.
  3. Provide elevated client care and services to ensure the highest value to clients.
  4. Develop strategies to deliver and drive results on project performance goals and conditions of satisfaction.
  5. Drive innovation, continuous improvement, and a lean culture through best practices, training, and development of staff.
  6. Manage all aspects of project start-up, including finalizing the prime contract, conducting startup meetings, preparing project execution plans, resource and staffing plans, and procurement management.
  7. Oversee project execution and document control responsibilities, including RFIs, SIs, submittals, CRXs, and change orders.
  8. Implement and manage financial strategies related to projects.
  9. Manage safety, quality control, and communication plans.
  10. Create and manage project schedules.
  11. Chair meetings, issue minutes, and follow up on action items.
  12. Track project productivity and performance.
  13. Manage stakeholder expectations.
  14. Oversee project close-out, including training, inspections, turnover, and warranty.
  15. Support and grow ongoing sub-trade and client relationships.
  16. Participate in project interviews and leadership development/training.

  3. Decision-making skills, especially in complex and risk-averse situations.

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor’s degree, diploma, or 2-year certificate in a construction-related discipline.
  2. 5+ years experience managing construction projects in commercial, industrial, or institutional buildings.
  3. Experience with various construction contracts.
  4. Managing the full construction process from startup to closeout on projects of varying sizes and complexities.
  5. Understanding of Lean principles, collaborative planning, and continuous improvement.
  6. Experience with Last Planner System is an asset.
  7. Experience with Procore Construction Management Software is an asset.
