Overview
The Project Accountant supports various teams in delivering new build construction, renovations, and special financial and automation projects by leading internal and external accounting initiatives. This role partners closely with corporate and operations stakeholders, contractors, and vendors to ensure financial accuracy and alignment.

Annual Compensation Range
60,000 – $75,000 / year
Responsibilities
- Manage purchase orders, change orders, invoices, and prime contracts for new builds, conversions, and renovations.
- Manage various projects in the areas of automation, financials planning, and process improvements.
- Prepare and maintain weekly project performance reports for key stakeholders.
- Identify and communicate billing discrepancies and scheduling delays to Construction Project Managers.
- Serve as primary liaison in the Finance department to align on project financials and cash flow forecasting.
- Participate in weekly project meetings, providing updates on project performance controls as required.
Qualifications
- Post-secondary education with 1–2 years of relevant experience accounting or accounting related field.
- Strong organizational, analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills, with proven ability to navigate communication challenges.
- Proactive and action-oriented, demonstrating initiative and ownership in previous roles.
- Ability to perform and adapt in a fast-paced, high-performance environment.
- Skilled in summarizing and presenting data concisely for executive-level reporting and presentations.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, with strong knowledge of Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Familiarity with construction contracts, change order documentation, and construction accounting practices is considered an asset.
- Experience in the construction industry is considered an asset.
- Knowledge of restaurant operations is considered an asset.
- This is an in-office role based in Vancouver, BC.
