BGC Okanagan is hiring Program Leader for our Recreation Program at our West Kelowna and Peachland Locations. The program leader is responsible for planning and implementing recreational, social, and educational activities. You will collaborate with other program leaders and the program coordinator to deliver the recreation program.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the day-to-day operation of the program by ensuring that the necessary facilities and equipment are in place, program guidelines and policies are adhered to, and program standards.
  • Supervise and interact with children and youth in a positive and supportive manner to ensure a safe and supportive environment.
  • Transporting participants in Agency Vans to various sites for recreational purposes.
  • Establish open communication with parent’s/care givers.
  • Plans and implements activities and special events for a program.
  • Promotes public awareness of and support for the program by performing duties such as producing promotional materials and attending community events.
  • Maintains related records and statistics and produces reports as required.

Qualifications:

  • A diploma, certificate and/or relevant experience working with children in recreation, education or other social services.
  • Current First Aid certificate
  • Class 4 Driver License or willingness to obtain
  • Successful completion of Agency screening including a Criminal Record Check

This position is open to all applicants

Hours: Casual hours available; Monday – Friday afternoons evenings, 2:00 pm-8:30 pm. Must be available Saturdays 9:00am – 4:00pm


Rate of Pay: $20.41 per hour
