PROGRAM FACILITATOR
Position Summary

In partnership with the Ontario Adult Probation & Parole Offices of the Eastern Region (Brockville, Cornwall, Hawkesbury), Laurencrest Youth Services Inc. is seeking a full-time facilitator to deliver educational programs and support the community reintegration of offenders.

The Change Learn Identify Choose (CLIC) Program addresses mental health concerns facing emotional, social, and behavioural clients. The purpose of this program is to assist clients placed on community supervision and those recently released from incarceration in positively reintegrating into society.

This pilot project will be carried out between with possibility of extension or becoming permanent.

En partenariat avec les Bureaux de libération conditionnelle et de probation pour adultes de l'Ontario dans la région de l'Est (Brockville, Cornwall, Hawkesbury), Laurencrest Youth Services Inc. recherche un facilitateur à temps plein pour dispenser des programmes éducatifs et soutenir la réintégration communautaire des délinquants.

Le programme Changer Apprendre Identifier Choisir (CLIC) aborde les problèmes de santé mentale auxquels sont confrontés les clients émotionnels, sociaux et comportementaux. Le but de ce programme est d’aider les clients placés sous surveillance communautaire et ceux récemment libérés d’incarcération à se réintégrer positivement dans la société.

Ce projet pilote se déroulera entre le 1er septembre 2024 et le 31 mars 2025 avec possibilité de prolongation ou de devenir permanent.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Complete intake processes, including conducting needs assessments.
  • Maintain thorough and up-to-date client records that meet quality and documentation standards.
  • Develop and deliver Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) focused programs intended to increase self-awareness, strengthen coping skills, and improve social functioning. All programming must be offered in French and English languages.
  • Coordinate and conduct meetings with clients promptly to develop a programming plan in consultation with the Ministry and with consideration to court‑mandated conditions and criminogenic risk factors.
  • Collaborate and communicate regularly with the Laurencrest Team, community partners and other probation‑related programs (Community Service Order program and Social Worker Support program).
  • Always follow safe work practices and comply with the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA).
Responsabilités

Les responsabilités incluent, sans s'y limiter :

  • Développer et dispenser des programmes axés sur la TCC (Thérapie cognitivo‑comportementale) visant à accroître la conscience de soi, à renforcer les compétences d’adaptation et à améliorer le fonctionnement social. Tous les programmes doivent être offerts en français et en anglais.
  • Coordonner et tenir des réunions avec les clients rapidement pour développer un plan de programme en consultation avec le Ministère et en tenant compte des conditions imposées par le tribunal et des facteurs de risque criminogènes.
  • Collaborer et communiquer régulièrement avec les partenaires communautaires et d'autres programmes liés à la probation (Programme d’ordonnance de service communautaire et Programme de soutien par un(e) travailleur/travailleuse social(e)).
Qualifications
  • Fluently bilingual (French and English)
  • College diploma or higher post‑secondary education in Social Work, education, or related field preferred
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Experience working with individuals struggling with substance use, mental and behavioural wellness, poverty, and homelessness
  • Crisis intervention skills are considered an asset
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a team
  • Ability to plan, organize, and prioritize work
  • Knowledge of community resources
  • Knowledge of MS Office software and highly developed communication skills
