JOB DESCRIPTION

Irving Shipbuilding is seeking a Production Support Specialist in Halifax, NS

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Plan, schedule, and manage daily tooling & equipment inventories including small tools, consumables, gauges, and spare parts.
  • Oversee procurement and supply readiness through coordination with internal teams and external vendors.
  • Lead and manage subcontractors to ensure safe, compliant, and high-performance execution of work.
  • Drive capital and expense projects from initiation to completion, ensuring cost, schedule, and safety targets are met.
  • Develop and maintain inventory specifications, functional requirements, and reporting tools to support business continuity.
  • Implement and audit safety, quality, and regulatory compliance plans across all project activities.
  • Support annual budget planning and oversee project financials for tooling and equipment services.
  • Champion continuous improvement by developing process maps and work instructions for inventory systems.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • 5-7 years of experience in planning, scheduling, inventory/data management, and project management.
  • University degree preferred; technical diploma/designation with extensive experience also considered.
  • Proven expertise in budget management and inventory database systems.
  • Strong project management skills with a track record of successful execution.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Skilled in managing multiple priorities and assignments in a dynamic environment.
  • Excellent communication, networking, and negotiation capabilities.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving abilities under pressure.
