Qualifications

  • 5–7 years of experience in a supervising/managing capacity.
  • Experience working within a heavy industrial manufacturing environment is an asset.
  • Must be able to work rotating shifts as well as weekends when required.

Responsibilities
  • Supervise a unionized team of 10–20 operators and 2 craftsmen per shift.
  • Ensure safety compliance through audits, risk assessments, and incident investigations.
  • Execute production plans and coordinate shift activities to meet quality and efficiency standards.
  • Maintain quality control, ensuring all testing meets required standards.
  • Chair and deliver team briefings on safety and operational topics; organize and lead daily production meetings.
  • Communicate effectively with other shift managers and overall management; provide accurate end‑of‑shift reports.
  • Manage HR responsibilities, including performance feedback, training needs, and union relations.
  • Delegate tasks with clear expectations and timelines; coach and mentor team members.
  • Troubleshoot issues using Continuous Improvement tools and collaborate with Performance Teams.
  • Validate working hours, schedule overtime, and complete production reports in SAP/MES/Excel; monitor housekeeping standards and enforce safety guidelines.
Requirements
  • A College Diploma in a technical field or equivalent work experience.
  • 5–7 years of experience in a supervising/managing capacity.
  • Outstanding interpersonal, teambuilding, coaching and communication skills.
  • Occupational Health and Safety knowledge.
  • Working knowledge and experience of 5S and Continuous Improvement or Lean Manufacturing.
  • Experience working within a heavy industrial manufacturing environment is an asset.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Words, Excel, PowerPoint; experience with SAP an asset.
  • Must be able to work rotating shifts as well as weekends when required.
Working Conditions
  • Must be able to wear required safety equipment.
  • Able to work 12 hour shifts including week ends in a 24/7 working environment.
  • Able to be on your feet for extended periods, climb stairs.
