Qualifications

As the Production Supervisor, you will be responsible for coordinating and supervising day‑to‑day plant production operations. Help in setting up the equipment to run production. Ensure Good Manufacturing Practices are followed during production activities for cannabis related products/projects. This includes, but is not limited to, organizing and assigning work to shop floor personnel, instructing, guiding, and assisting employees in the attainment of production and quality goals and standards, developing, and mentoring team members, and driving safety performance results that meet and/or exceed company goal and targets. The ideal candidate is energetic, collaborative, and forward‑thinking. This position is based out of Stayner, Ontario.

What you’ll be doing
  • Has the ability to set up the equipment for production requirements.
  • Assess labor needs and make necessary adjustments to ensure adequate staffing levels.
  • Ensure that Production Operators are aware of and follow safety protocols and SOPs and document their training.
  • Schedule and organize staff to the appropriate roles to ensure the team performs duties to meet production targets and expectations.
  • Ensure timesheets for all employees are submitted in a timely manner.
  • Oversee the documentation and KPI tracking of production room activities.
  • Understand the operation of all production equipment and train operators accordingly.
  • Ensure the optimal functioning of equipment and report on maintenance requirements.
  • Oversee assembly, disassembly, and cleaning of production equipment.
  • Perform and document all duties according to SOPs, GMP regulations, and all other established safety standards and company policies.
  • Assist with creating and/or revising SOPs.
  • Lead by example and be responsible for the work standards of the team.
  • Ensure safety regulations are met in all areas of responsibility and that employees perform the assigned work in a safe manner.
  • Ensure all functions and related documentation are completed accurately and in a timely fashion to meet production targets and regulatory requirements.
  • Work closely with department management to develop departmental initiatives and strategies to increase efficiencies.
  • Report deviations and assist in investigations (propose solutions and resolve problems) concerning production issues.
  • Other tasks as assigned by department management.
Your Environment
  • Required to work overtime as needed.
  • The work environment can be warm and humid.
  • Lifting up to 15‑20 lbs.
  • Standing and walking for long periods of time.
  • Frequent bending, kneeling, and reaching.
  • Ability to perform a series of repetitive operations requiring manual dexterity and visual acuity.
You’ll need to have
  • Technical knowledge of milling and/or packaging equipment would be an asset.
  • Post‑secondary education degree or diploma.
  • 2+ years’ experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in GMP/GAP production floor environment.
  • Knowledge of GMP/GAP as demonstrated by the ability to create/revise procedures/systems for their area of responsibility.
  • Detail oriented with strong communication, problem‑solving, and organizational skills, demonstrated through previous experience.
  • Must be flexible and capable of carrying multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Must have the ability to work with minimal supervision and to work well as part of a team.
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Office/SharePoint (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Experience with ERP systems—SAP is preferred.
  • First aid training is an asset.
