Job description
Overview

CGC Inc. is currently recruiting a Production Operator (Brake Press / CNC Operator) for our ceilings plant, based in Oakville, Ontario. This is a permanent, full‑time position that offers a challenging opportunity to demonstrate manufacturing skills within a large corporation.

Additional Responsibilities
  • Perform duties such as packaging Specialty products, running CNC/Brake Presses, performing housekeeping duties, and other duties as required.
  • Operate equipment efficiently and ensure the production of high‑quality Specialty products.
  • Ensure safety and housekeeping are the first requirements in all activities.
  • Comply with all safety rules, model programs, and procedures associated with the Specialty Production department.
  • Cooperate and work in a team environment while maintaining consistent attendance.
  • Exercise personal safety and promote and enforce safety among crew members.
  • Develop and maintain good employee morale and working relationships within the department and with other departments at the plant.
  • Assist in the implementation of USG/CGC Model Programs, Safety Rules, VWIs/JSAs and Standard Operating Procedures, as required.
  • Carry out special projects and assignments as directed by Management.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma required.
  • College diploma in sheet metal fabrication is considered an asset.
  • Prior work experience in sheet metal fabrication is considered an asset.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Hands‑on experience operating, setting up and troubleshooting Brake Presses and CNC machines is considered an asset.
  • Able to work flexible hours and all shifts.
  • Excellent problem‑solving skills and ability to work as a team.
  • Self‑motivated with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.Demonstrates ability to adapt to changing business conditions to support the needs of the department.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Must be a people and results‑oriented individual who incorporates and emphasizes safety and quality in all aspects of the daily work environment.
Additional Information
  • Pay – $29.22/hr
  • Shift – Monday – Friday, hours – 7am–3pm & 3pm–11pm on a 2‑week rotation
