We are actively seeking a Production Engineer to join our Lloydminster Thermal team. Reporting to the Manager, Production – Lloydminster Thermal, this role is responsible for production engineering activities across the assets. The successful candidate will work closely with field operation and the asset team to optimize the production rates, facility and pipeline design and operation, reservoir efficiency, equipment longevity, and overall operating costs. This role will plan and execute base and development capital projects.

This position can be based in either our Calgary office or at the Lloydminster field site.

Essential Functions
  • Provide production engineering expertise with multidisciplinary teams to drive cost effective production optimization decisions.
  • Maintain strong interface with field operations team for daily surveillance and troubleshooting of SAGD wells.
  • Develop & maintain well integrity monitoring program to ensure safe & reliable operations.
  • Recommend well optimization techniques or value adding workovers.
  • Monitor well pair data quality to ensure accurate production accounting reporting.
Qualifications And Skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with a minimum of 5 years’ experience, with preference for SAGD operations.
  • Registered, or eligible for registration, as a professional engineer with APEGA or APEGS.
  • Highly self-motivated, with excellent time management, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Direct field experience is a strong asset, providing practical insights into production operations.
  • Detailed understanding of SAGD process with experience in well design, artificial lift, completions, drilling and surface facilities.
  • Strong analytical skills; experience using advanced tools such as PI systems, Tableau and familiarity with TWBS is highly valued.
